so, after nearly five years of crs* this is our first gig outside cambridge. also first gig in almost a year, and since recording. no pressure then. arrived at venue to discover it was an empty furniture store, then found bloke and family boys and the entrance so relaxed a bit. venue underneath is pretty plush and fammers are playing a rock set, cool. turns out virtually everyone iv'e ever seen in a cambridge venue turned up to see either us or broken family band so it didn't feel all that different playing in london.
matt set his drums up on the floor which made for strange on-stage sound, but i'm reliably informed that it sounded good from the crowd. set went well despite us forgetting large chunks of our two new songs and not being able to hear what we were playing. people other than george were taking pics too, which was nice. knee jerk sample was laughably quiet with arthurs keyboard deafeningly loud (soundman went awol), but we had good fun and people seemed to dig us, (man). fammers were great, and even had an mc for one track, who told me later he loved our music. would be very cool to make some hip-hop style tracks or summink, watch this space. can't wait to play again and get those new tracks sorted, next stop shoreditch...
