so. soundcheck was lovely. 10 minutes and some bloke telling us that we'd sound like "a bunch of amateurs" if we didn't turn our amps down. the thing is, we do sound nasty now. it must be the new style. we should be fucking deafening and noisy with it. don't know how much that came across tonight but people looked scared as usual. hurrah!

summoned onto the stage with 2 minutes to spare, we didn't get a chance to pull out the stage props we had planned. i still have it all, so won't disclose the nasty secret until we are able to use it live again. messy though. bit peeved about that but played angry because of it. CFRS is our new anthem and sounded every inch, with the new princess-x drums continuing the bleeding ear theme of this set. bits fall apart in places, but my keyboard-taped-to-skip-debris thing holds together alright.

tom and i have a little dance offstage. it sounds nice out there and i like the feel of it. if lightning bolt hadn't come along, i'd consider setting up down there always. maybe i still will. ending is iffy but we all hang together and remember the stream of 20 or so notes. sabbath-dirge style i like to think. it all went well enough. we enjoyed hammering the shit out of our stuff and are more punk than clyde and million dead multiplied.

we all enjoyed the m.d. set, although it's weird seeing all the kids here now having listened to it so long ago (don't want to sound like a before-they-were-famous baker-boy) but does it lose it's sparkle a bit?
